Primary Forest School CPD day

Lesson: Learning Outside the Classroom

On Saturday we hosted a CPD day for Primary Forest School and Outdoor Education.  Mrs Gillibrand and Mrs Errington, joined Miss Tabur (our forest school leader) and the rest of the Primary Forest School team, for a day of site development and training in variety of aspects relating to forest school. These included SEN and forest school, first aid and safe use of tools and fire.  It was a productive (and rather wet) day!  We were very busy pruning the willow tunnels and developing our forest school area. We now have a smart new mud kitchen (moved from the EYFS area prior to it's redevelopment), a new fire circle with smart new log seats, our bug house has been relocated and we have begun redeveloping our gardening area.  Miss Tabur plans to continue developing the site with the children during their forest school sessions over the coming weeks.
