Homework
At Hazelbury Bryan Primary School, we believe that homework reinforces learning in the classroom. It's purpose is not to challenge any further without the support of an adult.
Homework develops responsibility and independent learning. Research shows that homework also benefits knowledge, self-discipline, attitudes to learning and problem-solving skills.
Each half term we will set a selection of homework (from Year 1 to 6) task on Google Clssroom. Your child should aim to complete any 6 pieces of work, from the options provided, before the end of the half term. Tasks wiLl link to current topics and learning in the classroom. You may wish to encourage a weekly piece to be completed.
We also encourage regular times table practise and daily reading for short periods of time.
We use Google Classroom to publish homework, children should access Google Classroom and work on the platform, selecting 'Turn In' when complete. Teachers monitor homework submissions and provide feedback by the end of each half term.
Please see attached poster to support your access to Google classroom. If your child requires any support with their homework, they must speak to a member of staff before the time that it is due in. We are always here to help.
