Class: Years 1 & 2 (Kestrels) Year: 2022 - 2023
Welcome to our learning gallery for September.
It will give you an insight into what Kestrels have been learning about.
Week One- 5th-9th September
This week the children created their class rules. They learnt about the story of the rainbow fish and how we must all share in our class. They created their own rainbow fish. Meanwhile in Maths Year One have been doing lots of number writing, estimating and counting.
Week Two- 12th-16th September
In Maths Year One have been doing even more counting! In English, following us reading the story 'Dogger', the children wrote an invitation to their special soft toy inviting them for a party. When the children brought them in, we played lots of party games and shared party snacks.
Week Three- 20th-23rd September
This week in Phonics, Jellybeans group have been practising the digraph endings ff,zz,ss. We were lucky enough to have a visitor from Coram Life Education teaching us a workshop about our feelings. In Science the children made a song about an everyday material and it's properties. They then peformed the songs back to the rest of the class.
Week Four- 26th-30th September
At Forest School the children have been building shelters and dens. They have all been giving our class guinea pigs Smoky and Pepper lots of strokes and cuddles. In art, the children made animal silhouette pictures they then used these shapes to try and make sculptures of them using playdough.
