Week 8- 1st March - 4th March

The children had a super time yesterday for our World Book Day. They made little books of their own stories based on Eric Carle's story 'Polar Bear, Polar Bear what do you hear?' but using African animals! Well done to the children who also brought in a vegetable book character. Daniel Northover was our class winner with 'The snail and the whale'.

Week 9- 7th March- 11th March

The children were very excited this week to recieve a class set of Boom Whackers from the Dorset Music Service this week. They have been learning how to play them and perfecting- Twinkle, twinkle, little star. In History, we have been exploring and learning about how cars have developed over the last 100 years. Meanwhile in PSHE we have made feeling plates and have used them to talk about our feelings in different situations.

Week 10- 14th March -18th March

This week was British Science Week! We were extremely grateful to the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) who fully funded our visit from the Science Dome. The children have also enjoyed a variety of investgations and STEM activities such as- 'Why are bubbles always spherical?' and trying to stack cups without using hands!

Week 11- 21st March- 28th March

In maths, Year Two have been doing lots of sorting of 2D and 3D shapes by thinking about their properties meanwhile Year One have been measuring capacity. Whilst in Design and Technology the children have been designing and making moving pictures with a sliding mechanism. 

Week 12- 28th March- 1st April

This week we met Merlin the puppy, which the children all loved! We also learnt about using coordinating and subordinating conjunctions in English.
