Happy New Year!!!!
We can't wait to see all the Kestrels on Wednesday 5th January!
Week 1 5th- 7th January
The children were very excited about telling us what they did for Christmas and planned and wrote their own recounts. Year One have been very busy practising partitioning numbers into tens and ones.
Week 2 10th- 14th January
The children were all very excited to get back to Forest school even though it is very cold outside in the crisp, winter air! They have been enjoying making bird feeders and hunting for mini beasts. The children have also enjoyed beginning to learn about Africa, focussing on the country of Kenya.
Week 3 17th- 21st January
In our PSHE lessons our topic in 'Being my Best'. The children have been learning about how to eat a balanced diet. We made a class food rainbow and then the children designed their own healthy lunches. During Maths, Year One have been practising lots of addition and subtraction using apparatus meanwhile Year Two have been using apparatus to derive multiplication facts of the 2x, 5x and 10 x tables.
Week 4 24th- 28th January
Following our work about the story of the Giant Jam Sandwich, the children have been writing instructions about how to make a jam sandwich. Kestrels then enjoyed using the instructions to make their own jam sandwiches.
