Hawks' Trip to Portland Bill Lighthouse

Hawks had an amazing day today as we visited Portland Bill Lighthouse! Exploring the visitor centre, we learned lots about the history of lighthouses and how they work. There were lots of activities for us to complete to help us with our learning- including giant puzzles. The highlight of our trip was getting to go inside the actual lighthouse AND climb to the VERY top! We were able to look closely at a number of previous bulbs used in the lighthouse including a huge one that was lit by flame. Climbing 153 steps, we made it to the very top and enjoyed the beautiful views. To top it all off, we were treated with beautiful weather as the sun was shining all day.
