World Book Day

This 'World Book Day' was fantastic! It really is so lovely to see the children's love of reading and a real admiration for books. This year, we opted to do something a little different and we asked the children to come to school as their own character from their own story. This could be a well known character or a completely made up character, as long as they could tell their own story. The costumes and characters were amazing and each child had created a great story all about who they were and what happened in their book. As part of an activity in class, all children were asked to write their story creating their very own book to put on their bookshelf at home. The children had a great day and took part in other activities linked to books. They also had an assembly that explained 'World Book Day' and each child was given their book token to buy a book with. We hope they had fun choosing! A fantastic day and a great effort, a joy to see children immersed in the mystical world of stories.
