Mrs Phillips Magistrate:

 

We were very lucky to have Mrs Phillips come to school to work with KS2 to explain her role as a magistrate. Mrs Phillips worked with Eagles class and then Hawks class. She created a mock trial for stolen pencils and gave the children different court roles. As each role came up, Mrs Phillips would explain what they did and she got the children thinking carefully about the evidence, to ask questions to withdraw information and make their final verdict. The children learnt a lot through their sessions and had such a great time deciding whether their teachers were guilty or not guilty. What a great experience and a fantastic opportunity for the children to explore a role they may not know much about. Thank you very much Mrs Phillips for supporting our 'People who help us' week.
