Our second week in Owls class
Date: 18th Sep 2023 @ 12:26pm
We have had another great week in Owls class. We are continuing to explore our indoor and outdoor areas and are thoroughly enjoying getting to know your children. We have been learning our golden rules. Please see the picture of them, can your child tell them what they are?
We enjoyed our trip to the library on Tuesday, we hope you are enjoying sharing the library books with your children at home. Please ensure they are in your child's book bag each day with their yellow reading diary so that they can be read in school as well. Library book change day is Tuesday.
We also enjoyed our first yoga and music session this week as well as our first PSHE lesson where we explored why it is "good to be me."
The children took part in Forest School, where they went on a hunt to find numbers hiding in our grounds. They then helped to order the numbers on the washing line, before looking at different shapes and identifying these shapes in obstacles/equipment/nature around the field area.
We have learnt all about the daily mile ready for Monday morning. The children were very excited to be able to complete it and loved trying all of the different moves. We also focused on physical development by taking part in a PE lesson called 'Pound,' where the children moved with drumsticks.
Finally we had a visit from SCARF and Harold the giraffe. The children LOVED him. They learnt all about keeping healthy and what we need to put in our bodies to give them energy. The children talked with Harold about brushing teeth, having a bath, sleep, exercise and healthy food. A great, fun and interactive session!
Lots of fun this week. More exploring and learning the routines of Owls!
Have a wonderful weekend. We look forward to seeing you all next week.
