Our eighth week-  2nd November- 5th November

In maths, the children have been practising doing lots of addition and subtraction through playing different games and problem solving.

Year 2 recapped their phase 3/4/5 phonics for a final time before their phonics checks next week!

Our nineth week - 8th November- 12th November

During our PE lessons the children have been learning about circuit fitness; they have enjoyed different timed fitness activities. 

In English, the children have been working in pairs to order sentences in character descriptions to make them more clear.

Our tenth week- 15th November- 19th November

In our maths, the Kestrels are becoming experts at recalling their number bonds to 10, 20 and 100.

Our eleventh week- 22nd November- 26th November

For our DT, we have been tasting some different flavour soups to give us ideas to design our own healthy soups.

Our twelfth week - 29th November- 3rd December

In PSHE, the children role played different scenarios which may occur with their friends and discussed how to solve friendship problems together.

The Kestrels were lucky enough to go on a trip to the Shire Hall Courthouse Museum in Dorchester to find out more about Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot. They learnt about life in Dorset in the 1600's, how the gun powder was moved underneath the Houses of Parliament extremely carefully and how they were put on trial and treated in court. They even had the chance to make peg dolls and write with pen and ink.
