French Language Day
Date: 23rd Mar 2023 @ 10:29pm
We celebrated French Language Day on Monday (March 20th) with a variety of fun activities. The children split off into their house groups and visited different classrooms to explore France and the French language in different ways. Mrs Odhams taught the children a French rap so be sure to ask for a performance! Using a variety of construction materials, the children were given the challenge of building a famous French landmark. We saw lots of people take on the challenge of constructing the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. For many of the children, visiting a French café serving a variety of French pastries was the highlight of the afternoon. The children very much enjoyed tucking into these! Finally, they created their own pizzas, roleplayed ordering them with French phrases and vocabulary, and even created their own French reciept for their pizza and toppings. All in all, we all had lots of fun and learnt a lot about France and the French language.
