First Half Term in Hawks

We have been very busy this half term in Hawks Class. We have studied 'The First Drawing' in English which links to our Topic of Stone Age to Iron Age (History). We have also explored 'I was born in the Stone Age' by Michael Rosen, and created our own poem in this style. For the last few weeks we have been looking at 'Cautionary Tales' by Hilaire Belloc'. The children are currently in the process of writing up their final versions of their own 'Cautionary Tales' and will be performing them at the end of the week.

In D.T this half term the children have been designing and making their own money containers. They spent some time studying different money containers to help them decide how they will make their own. The children have explored different stitches, fabrics and fasteners to make their own. They have all got on so well with this and are really looking forward to bringing them home to show their families. 

In Computing we have learnt a lot about Computer Networks. The children have really enjoyed this. They are in the process of creating their own presentations on the Chrome books explaining the different components and processes of computer networks. All the children in Hawks Class have really enjoyed their Stone Age Topic in History. We have explored Stonehenge, Hunter Gatherers, Skara Brae and Hill Forts to name a few things. It has been great to see their homework coming in this week of their own 'Hill Fort' creations!
